2019 Chardonnay

Anna and Neil are not kidding when they exclaim - “Chardonnay is one of the greatest grapes in the world.” And for purists in the category of showing terroir, then we’d have to agree. Anna and Neil are not kidding when they exclaim - “Chardonnay is one of the greatest grapes in the world.” And for purists in the category of showing terroir, then we’d have to agree. Warm climate or cool, wet or dry it always has plenty to say. A cooler year in the already cool Gippsland, this is picked a touch later than their usual pickings, so gets fleshiness as well as favourable acidity. Ever since leaving the city ten years ago, Anna and Neil have lived by the seasons. For Neil this was a return to normal having lived rurally and farmed for much of his adult life, for Anna a difficult but fruitful adjustment. The Wine Farm became a place where they grow the wine they want to drink and the food they want to eat. As they say, it's where their kids get muddy, their dog can howl without upsetting the neighbours and they can breathe.
