Launched by Ben Bowles and Andrew Fitzgerald in Brunswick, The Gospel is Australia's only dedicated rye whiskey distillery. Crafted with local unmalted rye from South Australia in their six-metre high column still – designed and constructed by the former engineers – it's aged in a mix of virgin American oak and Australian wine barrels.

Their Straight Rye Whiskey is made with rye from a single farm in the Murray Mallee region, aged onsite in Melbourne for at least two years in 200L virgin American oak barrels ranging from No.2 to No.4 level char to embody the characteristics of traditional rye whiskey with a distinctly Aussie nuance.

This is pure elegance; yet also pure drinkability. The bouquet is oily and grainy – butterred dark rye bread, cocoa dustings, echoes of mint and purring spices mingling over deep oak sugars. Oily rye, wafery vanillas and intensifying spices. Beautifully controlled, with serious length and staying power. Glimmers of apple mint and wood spice on the finish.
