Described by Rajat Parr as one of the best Bourgogne Rouge wines in Burgundy, Pataille’s red is a blend of parcels in Marsannay and the Hautes Côtes, covering just over one hectare in total. A veritable forest of flavours, complex and winding. Red fruits and herbs, a pure core of mineral drive. Sylvain Pataille is Marsannay born and bred. He grew up amongst the vines, helping his father prune the vines on a friend's vineyard. As he got more familiar with the area, he branched out and started working amidst other vineyards. Studying at Beaune with some of the other greats, he began working in a wine lab, as well as a winery in Bordeaux. Drawn back home, as most are wont to do, he looks after fifteen hectares of vines, growing Aligoté, Pinot Noir, Pinot Beurrot (Gris), Chardonnay, Chardonnay Rosé and Aligoté Doré.

“From old vines, the 2021 Bourgogne delivers aromas of red berries, orange zest, cinnamon and peonies, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and succulent palate. This will make for perfumed, mouthwatering drinking on release.” 88 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

-Bibendum, Importer
