A long slow ripening period allowed for excellent phenolic maturity resulting in concentrated, high-quality fruit. Experts rate this vintage highly, comparing it to other strong years such as 2016 and 2010. 
 
The wines in general from Roagna in 2019 offer a classic profile of high-toned red fruits, floral notes of rose and violet and savoury notes of tar and liquorice. They are structured with ripe tannins and vibrant acidity and moderate alcohols of 14%. The wines are built for the long haul whilst approachable now. The non-interventionist philosophy, organic viticulture, very long maceration and aging process have served Roagna well with a set of wines that emphasizes the unique expression of each vineyard’s terroir.
