Though the entirety of the Momento Mori portfolio has attained cult status, the Fistful of Flowers has a particular renown that echoes some cult-ish imports – Cantina Giardino, Radikon, Birbo, to name a few. This release is a stunner. Moscato Giallo and Vermentino grown by the Chalmers family on the slopes of Mt Camel in Heathcote, Victoria. Huge florals on the nose, a whirlwind of marigold, pear blossoms, magnolia, cherry tree. The palate is washed with stone fruit, elderflower, musk, cut plums. Cool, slatey, steely, salty. Small ferment, wild yeast, no new oak, no mechanical pumps, no fining, no filtration, no additions.
