2024 New! Nebbiolo Refosco
Pat uses a patchwork of Nebbiolo clones from the Chalmers and Willoughby Bridge vineyards for this wine. There are too many to list here, but for the clone-spotters out there, they include CVT 230, CN 230 and MAT 1,3,5,6,7,8,9 and 10. They are picked and ferment separately using various methods and vessels. A portion of the Nebbiolo was vinified as rosé, while the balance was treated like a red and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and barrel. The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso fruit (about 15% of the blend) hails from Chalmers and spent 20 days on skins in tank. The individual wines were then blended and bottled.
