Aurèlien Laherte has risen to the top of the grower Champagne movement at lightening speed. Since taking over his family's vines on the slopes to the south of Epernay, Aurèlien has become one of the most exciting producers in the region. He employs organic vineyard practices and a traditional winemaking approach, crafting grower Champagnes of astounding precision and purity.

This striking pink Champagne from Aurélien is a blend of Meunier done three ways. 60% is made as a white; 30% is a saignée (macerated) rosé, and the remaining 10% is a full blown red wine. Fruit is handpicked from vines aged from 25 to over 40 years, from the 2014 and 2015 harvests. The wines are fermented and aged in a variety of vessels – vats, foudre and old demi-muid barrels – before being transferred to bottle for secondary fermentation and then disgorged by hand. This is an ultra seductive, dry rosé brimming with crunchy red fruits, cranberry, blood orange and rosehip. So complex and unique, you simply must try it.
