2023 'Frankie' Cabernet Franc

A favourite amongst many, including us, stemming from our love of Loire Valley cab franc. This wine is fermented as whole berries only for around 8-10 days and pumped over gently. We press this ferment off while it still retains sweetness in the juice and tannins are low. We press this ferment off while it still retains sweetness in the juice and tannins are low. This results in a fruit forward wine with purity and shine, and beaming with dark berries and wild forest fruits. This years wine has huge depth, colour and complexity with a long palate and great mouth feel, and on the nose it hints at tomato leaves. This year is back to its deeper and darker style like the 2021 and has the true characteristic of cab franc. - Andrew Birchall, Winemaker.
