Monforte d'Alba Barbera from father and son duo Diego and Stefano Conterno in Monforte d'Alba, cousins to the more lauded Giacomo and Aldo Conterno. Barbera and Dolcetto are grown everywhere in Piedmont where Nebbiolo isn't, and is seen as a more budget-friendly alternative, with moderately high acid and lowish tannins, although expression varies by winemaker. Barbera d'Alba like this one tend towards power, structure and dark, brooding weight. Certified Organic.
