2024 Langhe Nebbiolo
Cascina delle Rose is a 3.5-hectare family estate in the village of Tre Stelle, Barbaresco. The estate is run by Giovanna Rizzolio and Italo Sobrino and their sons, Davide assuming winemaking duties and Riccardo responsible for marketing and export. As the name suggests, roses are indeed omnipresent on the farm and in the vineyards, practising organic viticulture. It has been a family run business since 1948, with Giovanna’s Grandmother holding the preceding legacy as one of the most stoic figures, standing up the invaders and assisting the locals during 1940’s wartime Italy. The estate’s wines are compact, fine and pretty in style. Dolcetto and Langhe Nebbiolo see only stainless steel in order to maintain vibrancy and freshness, while Barbera and Barbaresco are aged in traditional Slavonian oak Botti.
