German-born, enigmatic winemaker Timo Mayer is one of the great eccentrics of the wine world. Full of charisma, charm and an edge that teeters on hedonism, the wines are as much him as anything else he touches. This range is from his close-planted Yarra Valley vineyard, evocatively named 'Bloody Hill', The signature of Timo's, and his son Rivar’s, winemaking style is the penchant for whole-bunch ferment. They always glow with fruit, whilst still achieving wonderful structure, acid, tannin. The Bloody Hill range is now the responsibility of Timo's talented son Rivar Mayer Ferguson, and Mayer has been dropped from the label.
