"A return to 100% Barossa sourced, from Wayne Ahrens of Smallfry fame, and to a 50:50 split between the two lovers. 2/3rds intertwined in Carbonic matrimony plus a third ferment of whole berry for a little more oomph. "Soft but fairly deep red this year. Classic Gonzo scents of dried rose and peony, cola spice, too-long-in-the-fruit-bowl plum, red cherry and red berries plus background old barrel and ‘old world’ charm. More medium and serious this year, although I said the same about the 2021 and that turned out to be a thriller with some more time in bottle. Bottle aged Campari, musk, pomegranate, dried cranberry. Its biggest
ever version at 13.4% and it shows the weight with a little more tannin but the same tangy acid vein dominates giving a mouthful of pleasure as its lights up the palate. Might need something to eat if drinking close to release but should be fridge-able by summer." - Winemakers notes
