Well into his 70’s Robinot still has an infectious enthusiasm like a person built for bringing out the passion in others. In his youth, he opened one of Paris’s first natural wine bars, L’Ange Vin, and founded one of France’s most long standing wine magazines - Rouge et Blanc. Eventually, he sold the bar and quit the words, and in the early 2000’s, bought a vineyard and started making wines himself. Situated between Le Mans and Tours in the Loire Valley, he is one of the most exciting vignerons working with Chenin Blanc and Pineau d’Aunis (the Loire’s forgotten red varietal) that are beyond enchanting. Wild and beguiling, they are wines you must try if you consider yourself any kind of natural wine enthusiast.
