2024 OGG
The OGG is an orange wine made predominantly from Schönburger (Pinot Noir x (Chasselas x Muscat Hamburg)), Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, with a splash of Gewurztraminer thrown in for good measure. The fruit grows on a few sites around the Tamar Valley: Glen Shian, Waverley and Ricky’s home vineyard, Woodlawn. The OGG is an orange wine made predominantly from Schönburger (Pinot Noir x (Chasselas x Muscat Hamburg)), Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, with a splash of Gewurztraminer thrown in for good measure. The fruit grows on a few sites around the Tamar Valley: Glen Shian, Waverley and Ricky’s home vineyard, Woodlawn. The Schönburger (which adds delicious, fruity orange pop to the wine), Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer were destemmed and co-fermented on skins for just over three weeks in an open-top vessel. The Gris saw a nice quick ferment in tank and matured in seasoned wood. The wines were kept on light lees until midwinter when the blend was assembled and bottled. It’s a textural, aromatic, delicious skinsy blend—enough said!
