Pecorino (from pecora, meaning ‘sheep’) is not a grape native to the area, but rather it is a grape native to Arquata del Tronto, located on the Sibillini mountains on the border between Marche and Abruzzo. Shepherds once who moved their flock from the mountains to the sea with the arrival of autumn.
