One of the enduring highlights of the Vinify portfolio, Bera’s Barbaresco is a benchmark for varietal and regional expression. A blend of fruit from Barbaresco’s far-Eastern Serraboella vineyard for structure and muscle, and Basarin for deep red fruitiness, this is unmistakable Barbaresco with a huge personality. 100% Nebbiolo, from younger vines within the Basarin and Serraboella cru, 250m ASL, limestone/clay over blue marl, 28 days on skins, 24 months in Slavonian oak Botti & 12 months in bottle before release, 400 dozen produced.
 
This is densely built up on its core of red cherry, earth and beetroot, but is nuanced in its fragrance with rose-hip, fennel seed and sandalwood. The juice from Serraboella has given it a base of firm tannin over which is draped energetic and delicious red fruit. A wild strawberry-like acid profile and lovely sinewy grip just affirms that – as well sorted as it is right now – this will be long lived. “Aromas of chinona bark, dried herbs, and savory spice, along with hints of cinnamon stick, offer an aromatic profile that tickles the nose. Macerated mixed wild raspberry and boysenberry define the initial flavors of the palate as elegant, yet structured, tannins emerge subtly.
