New wines from a fantastic burgeoning vigneron! Alexander Beccari is man behind Fahray Wines. He cut his teeth at the institution that is Hoddles Creek in the Yarra Valley and has now gone out on his own. He only makes one cuvee, a Nebbiolo and we are lucky to get our hands on it. He only makes one cuvee, a Nebbiolo and we are lucky to get our hands on it.
Fruit all comes from Grove Estate in Hiltops, same block that Brian gets his fruit for Ravensworth. All handpicked and destemmed to stainless where it is left on skins for a couple of weeks. From there it is pressed off initially to stainless but then transfered to old french oak where it sleeps for 2 years.
Nebbiolo made the way it should. Paitently and carefully. The perfect balance between freshness and length. Crushed red berries, laced with herbs and spices. Maybe the best value wine we've seen in a long time.
