2023 Sergeant J Grenache

The Stockwell road block has a heavy sandy top soil with limestone under. Around 40 Years old plantings. The 2023 vintage was a cold and wet vintage. The growing cycle ran on average 3 weeks behind then normal. Heaps of rain in winter 2022 and spring 2023 made the vine slow and unwilling it’s growing. This wine displays a very elegant style of Grenache, an amazing play of fruit and spices with a gentle touch of tannins in the background. - Koen Janssens, Winemaker.
