The Bombolieri is from a parcel with a high limestone content; shallow clay and sand over solid limestone. The wine shows aromas of blueberry and cherries with some green herbs and almost tertiary characters of barn and leather. Medium bodied with fresh acidity and supple tannins. Shows very much why Sicily is challenging the red wines of Burgundy.
