Jean Francois has been a farmer for over 20 years, working his 40 hectares of vineyards organically, certified since 2020. A chance encounter with Francois Ecot in 2015 changed his course, from winegrower to winemaker. Francois became his mentor and showed him the way of natural wine. A chance encounter with Francois Ecot in 2015 changed his course, from winegrower to winemaker. Francois became his mentor and showed him the way of natural wine. Located in the Pierres Dorées region, the southern part of Beaujolais, he has a myriad of soil types including clay-limestone, limoneux, granite, alluvial and pink sand. Under vine is Gamay, Viognier and Chardonnay. Presently, only a portion of the grapes are kept for the estate, the remainder sold to other winemakers, including Viognier to Alice Bouvot of I’Octavin and Julien Altaber, as well as the local cooperative.
