"Orientale Sicula" is a rosé from Etna, a category that blossoms with food friendly wines that will have you deeply reconsidering your thoughts about pink drink ever being simple. Made from an assembly of Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, aged in steel, it is beguiling - floral, mineral and full of fresh fruit. Davide Bentivegna had no previous experience or family land when he decided to move to Mount Etna and start a winery for himself, it all had to be created from scratch. From day one the approach was to an organic farming and natural winemaking. A winning combination of business acumen and environmental sensitivity meant that he soon established not only vines, but olives for oil, apples for cider and a thriving eco-tourism company that shares the wonders of Etna with visitors whilst supporting his truly artisanal winemaking vision.
