The people who make the drinks that line our shelves are artists and makers themselves. We’ve all walked into WINONA (yes, even ourselves) and gone, “Wow, look at all these gorgeous labels!”. The intersection of art and wine is as natural as cheese on a bickie, so, of course we stock a wide range of bits and pieces to complement your home or workspaces. Also, you can’t serve wine without a glass to put it in (most of the time). We search high and low across the world to find things that you can’t easily pick up elsewhere, making the shelves at WINONA a true curator’s delight. We also really like to support smaller, local artisans; they are the heart and soul of the art community. Essentially we source our objects like we source our wines – an emphasis on sustainable materials, small batch, hand made, thoughtful and captivating. Some of the objects that we drool over are Liam Fleming’s stunning glassware, decanters and whiskey tumblers crafted exclusively for us, making those precious drops seem even more so. Brian Hirst's iconic decanters are all you need for a good sexy decant. As a nod to our love of kitsch, we stock a huge array of Tsubota Pearl lighters, refillable, each one handcrafted in Tokyo. Christian Metzer’s glassware has to be seen to be believed. Look them up. So shiny! If the smell of wine and food filling the air ain’t quite enough, try some incense. Crafted in Japan’s Hyogo Prefecture, Hibi brings together the incredible incense of Awaji Island – known for its 'incense Masters' – with the craft of matchmaking in Harima. Of course, old favourites – Maison Balzac. How do they nail it each and every time? The colours, the shapes, the weight of the glassware in your hand. They are a gift to the eye and the tip of the lip. Cocktail glasses from New York (Sophie Lou Jacobsen), good proper stemware, sake pourers and just a general shrine to Japanese ceramics...the list goes on. But it ain’t just others that we got in the shop, we also have some stuff that we made ourselves! We collaborated with the talented Jason Phu for our denim totes, and Elliott Routledge for our tees. Merch that’s so cool it’s not merch any more. We have lovely little gift bags and even a giclee print of one of our favourite collaborations, the Beetlejuice wines we made with Good Intentions. The things we offer in the shop really capture the way we try to support and reflect the community around us. We want to make you feel good. Enjoy :)
