Established in 1952 by Hiroshi Tsubota, Tsubota Pearl produces artisan metalwork with all components made in specialised workshops in and around the Asakusa area of Tokyo; known as Shitamachi. The 'Hard-edge Marble' model was introduced into Tsubota Pearl's collection in 2008. The tortoise patternings on the translucent body are spray-painted by hand in multiple layers using 'Floated' stencils, then polished to perfection. These mottled gradations are never exactly the same, and are unique to each lighter – creating depth and an interplay of color, light, and material. The lighter is as pleasurable to the eye as it is useful. Ignite things in style :)
