Osaka Naniwa pewterware stretches back a whopping 400 years to the Edo period. The leading maker of pewterware in Japan is Osaka Susuki, a company of accredited craftsmen who use only traditional techniques. They cast the iron in a mould and grind using a potter's wheel, by hand. Pewter, or tin, has a high iron effect that absorbs impurities found in alcohol and water. You’ll be astounded at the beautiful mellowing of flavour and softening of coarseness in your beverage! Tin also warms quickly and has incredible thermal insulation properties (hello warm sake…). It doesn’t rust, either. Tin EVERYTHING please.
