Artigiano is an experimental red wine produced by Cantina Etnella from the vineyards in contrada Crasà, where Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grow. It’s picked over three different moments in the harvest - early, ripe and overripe, then blended all together. Ageing for 10 months in old oak barrels. An exercise in blending and movement, understanding the value of every moment in the season, a unique wine for those who love Etna. Davide Bentivegna had no previous experience or family land when he decided to move to Mount Etna and start a winery for himself, it all had to be created from scratch. From day one the approach was to an organic farming and natural winemaking. A winning combination of business acumen and environmental sensitivity meant that he soon established not only vines, but olives for oil, apples for cider and a thriving eco-tourism company that shares the wonders of Etna with visitors whilst supporting his truly artisanal winemaking vision.
