Valentina Passalacqua - NV Mezzorosa Rosato 1L

Valentina Passalacqua describes her wines self reflexively: ‘strong, firm, authentic, dishevelled, without tricks, pleasant and long-lived…they are wines that know how to thank the work done every day between the rows; they thank the sun that warms the fruits in the daylight; they thank the cool nights…’ Located 200m above sea level inside Gargano National Park in Apricena, Puglia, Valentina’s family winery has been operating since the early 1900s, farmed biodynamically for the past 20 years. Wines are fermented with native yeasts and never filtered not fined, with little to no sulphur addition. Valentina’s vinos are rustic yet refined; evoking the rocky limestone land that was once deemed only suitable for cattle.

This rosato is crafted from young Montepulciano vines biodynamically grown on clay and limestone, and harvested by hand. Spontaneous fermentation in steel, off skins, then aged in steel. Such a juicy drop beaming with brightness and honesty aligned with Valentina's philosophies. Aromatic with a direct strucure and elegant palate full of fresh red fruits. Best enjoyed with the people you love.
