Tierra Noble is made by the Herrera family at La Estacada just outside the beautiful mountain town of Mazamitla, Jalisco. It's one of the world’s highest distilleries, sitting 7200 metres above sea level, in Jalisco's Sierra del Tigre, a place of cool forests, clean air and pure mountain springs. High altitude leads to very pure, concentrated flavour profiles. At this altitude, the low temperatures cause to the cooked agave mash to ferment slowly with exclusively Montpelier wine yeast while preserving the aromatic richness of the agave.
Cristalinos are the latest trend in premium tequila. They're matured in American oak, and charcoal filtered to remove any colour. Tierra Noble's is a multi-barrel blend selected from the distillery's best stocks. It looks like a Blanco but tastes and smells like a Reposado. Wow. Lots of mint and celery, with a slight hay/barnyard edge. Very oily on the palate with a bounty of spices like white pepper and cinnamon. If you're new to the tequila world, this one's for you.
