It was firstly matured in American oak casks, and then interestingly given a finishing in Cognac casks, before eventually being bottled up at 19 years of age. Cognac casks are notorious for imparting a lot of character (sometimes even too much), but Glendullan has done a great job here, with the Cognac elements not overwhelming the flavour profile, but rather, seasoning it.
