Lisanne Van Son, a sunshine-y name to say, is a sommelier turned winemaker, moving through Holland, the UK and then finally settling in France. In 2013 she found Montlouis and met Noella Morantin, working a few days a week in the vineyard and cellar. After realising that winemaking could quite possibly be her path, she made the move in 2017. Sonshine Vins began in an old troglodytic cave in Noizay, which though it sounds like a home for magical trolls, makes for good wine too. Purchasing only organic or biodynamic grapes from farmers for natural vinification, with the goal of buying a vineyard of her own one day. She flirts between here and winemaking stints in the Adelaide Hills too…because why be still when there’s wine to make?
