Renaud Bruyère and Adeline Houillon - 2014 Chardonnay Vielle Vigne

Freshness and liveliness are at the forefront of this oxidative Jura Chardonnay. Some of the wine slumbered in old wooden barrels during elevage, bringing vast dimension. You'll find ‘oxi’ characteristics, lean acidity and notes of buttered chestnut. A truely exceptional release that is drinking well now and will continue to do so for a very, very long time. Give her some air and enjoy the journey.

Near the the tiny Jura village of Pupillin, Renaud Bruyère and Adeline Houillon are superstar young winemakers who tend just 4.5 hectares of low-yielding vines growing on Triassic clay. Their production is miniscule and highly sought after, release to release. The grapes, always, are picked by hand and placed in small crates so that they are not damaged. This Chardonnay was bottled without filtration or added sulphites [mis en bouteille]
