Christina Netzl's natural winemaking journey began at the tender age of five, working on her family’s farm and vineyard with her parents and grandparents in in Carnuntum of Neiderösterreich (Lower Austria). Later, she studied oenology and wine management in London, and in 2007 returned to the family winery to work with her parents. In 2013 the family began the process of converting everything to organics; certified in 2018. Over the last decade working at the winery, Christina has fallen in love with ancient winemaking practices and has recently launched her natural line of wines.
Her 2019 rose is crafted from Zweigelt, hand harvested and direct pressed to stainless steel tanks where it underwent spontaneous ferment for two weeks. After resting for another 2 weeks and racked onece, it then slumbered for 6 weeks on lees before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. It's full and luscious, with oozing cherries, stone fruits and suede-smooth tannins. More elegant than Marion Cotillard.
