Beautiful, like maybe if Brigitte Bardot were a wine. She shimmers, for sure. 50 years old vines from 1.6 ha vineyard in Anjou. The palate is rich and generous, but retains its freshness with Chenin’s flirty acidity. So much perfume, full of quince and white flowers. Drizzled with native honey and thyme. Domaine Mosse make unbelievably delicious wines in the Loire Valley. They are famous for their Chenin Blancs, but the reds are growing in their lustre and reputation. It is strikingly clear when a wine is made by good people and Agnès and René Mosse embody kindness, they have shared their incredible knowledge with many makers who’ve worked with them to gain experience to then go onto their own viticultural glory. Their two sons Sylvestre and Joseph worked alongside Agnès and René every vintage and now they are at the helm of the domaine, producing wines of exceptional purity and flavour while maintaining the high standards set by their parents.
