Bodegas Moraza - 2018 Tempranillo

Bodegas Moraza has been in the Moraza family for six generations, but it was when Janire Moraza convinced her father and uncle to convert their 18 ha of land to organic farming that things started to really blossom. Today, Janire and Patricio own 23 ha of certified organic vineyards at the foot of the Cantabria and Toloño mountains, growing only native varietals of the Rioja Alta – the majority being Tempranillo, followed by Garnacha, Viura, Graciano, Garnacha Blanca. Their concrete '80s winery was designed to work with gravity over three floors, so they can avoid over pumping and unnecessary manipulation.

This 2018 Temp is medium bodied and incredibly fresh. Grapes were fermented spontaneously in concrete tanks, allowing the fruit to express itself in pure, unselfconscious glory. Dark fruits, red fruits, cocoa, sour cherry, ginger spice, pepper and plum. Warms you right up. Grab a chunk of spicy charcuterie and sip yourself silly.
