Based in Gradoli, Italy, Le Coste Vineyard began in 2004 when Gianmarco Antonuzzi and Clementine Bouveron purchased 3ha of abandoned land known as 'Le Coste'. The vineyard now covers about 14ha, with biodynamically-farmed young vines, old vines (40 – 60 yrs), olive trees and fruit trees growing on volcanic soils rich in iron and minerals.
Le Coste's '19 Rosato is Aleatico from a fifty year old vineyard, planted some 500 metres above sea level. The grapes were destemmed and spent a few hours on their skins before being pressed off to vat to finish fermentation, then a year of élevage in aged barrels. From a warmer vintage, this is a visceral vino that's more fleshy and fruit forward than previous vintages. Aromas of fresh red fruit and herbal notes jump out and lasso your nose, pulling you into the glass – where you will stay, happily, until the end of the bottle.
