Larmandier-Bernier - NV Longitude 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs

NV Longitude 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs

Champagne, France

Ripples with pleasure. Grower Champagne quite frankly, is tres bon. Rich, sugared and ripe stone fruit, chalk, butter of toast. Creaminess in texture with very fine bead, gives it a fresh lilt, but it lengthens out into something quite chewy, salty, warming. Savoury in the last few moments. You’ll remember it for much time after. As is the goal with grower Champagne, Pierre and Sophie Larmandier are taking a more natural approach to their craft than most in the region. They manage their 15 hectares in the south of Côte des Blancs biodynamically, an arduous task in a climatically unfavourable part of the world and opt for a more hands off approach in the cellar. Long, slow ferments and an aversion to dosage make for wines of astonishing length, drive, minerality, purity.
