2022 'Rolle' Vermentino

We quite like the way that the Koerner brothers will name their Vermentino over the regional expression it most reminds them of. Here we feel as though we're in Provence, swatting butterflies off our noses and plunging into cool pools that overlook the sandstone villages of this gorgeous part of Southern France. Faint herbs and lemon zest, a spring time affectation curtailed with yeasr round sensibility. The Koerner crew know how to make a solid, reliable wine. Much is the mission statement of most young winemakers coming out of Australia, Jono and Damon Koerner wanted to make Clare Valley wines modern and exciting again, whilst returning to better agricultural systems. They play with Clare classics; Cabernet, Riesling, Malbec, but also have a deep love of Italian varieties, which we will undoubtedly see more of from them as the years heat up.
