Jerome Lambert - 2018 Coule se Source Chenin Blanc

Liquid life. Seriously, Jérôme Lambert’s '18 Chenin is so full of energy it buzzes in the glass and expands with air like a living, breathing being. It’s 100% Chenin Blanc from two plots of forty-year-old vines planted on sand and shale on Jérôme’s tiny organic biodiverse vineyard in a remote part of the Loire, south of Angers. After obsessive fruit selection, the grapes are pressed directly into steel tanks and spontaneously fermentated. The wine matures in tank for a year before being bottled with zero additives, fining or filtration. This is an expressive and taut white that paints a yellow-tinged picture of pears, golden plums, honey, lemon, hay, apples and hazelnut. Agile acidity and the unforgettable mineral imprint of shale. Frankly, we bloody love this wine.
