Jerome Lambert - 2015 Le Zu De Fruit
Liquid life. Seriously, Jérôme Lambert’s '15 Le Zu de Fruit is so full of energy it buzzes in the glass and expands with air like a living, breathing being. Berry perfume preludes a dark, velvety palate of cherry, spice, leather, blueberry and fresh herbs, with a lingering aniseed that leaves you salivating for more. Tight acidity, muchas juicy. It’s a marriage of Grolleau and Cabernet Franc, planted over sandy loam on Jérôme’s tiny organic biodiverse vineyard in a remote part of the Loire, south of Angers. After obsessive fruit selection, the wine is fermented naturally with zero additives, bottled unfined and unfiltered. A benevolent red for the impending winter. We have a few bottles. Get on it.
