A huge wine, for those feeling bold. Georgia’s Paddock grapes once again supplemented with grapes grown by friends within the Heathcote region, this year's wine is indulgent, a vibrant magenta with a rich, enveloping nose. Spicy and full of length, might be one for your cellar. Established by Ron and Elva Laughton, resisting the pull that many older Australian wineries fall into to commercialise, mass produce, Jasper Hill has remained a small, family business. The 2022 vintage was their 41st. Ron and Elva’s daughters, Emily and Georgia now work within the business. Emily has been passionately growing grapes and making wine alongside her father since 2001, whilst Georgia enjoys doing most of the administrative work. The site, like many in Heathcote, is famed for its Cambrian soils, making for complex and minerally Shiraz. Their sites have never, ever seen a pesticide or a herbicide, a rarity in the winegrowing world. They are wines that stand the test of time and challenge what we consider to be natural wine.
