2019 Clos Milan Rouge

The Clos Milan is Henri Milan’s magnum opus, Grenache and Shiraz (Syrah feels more appropriate here though). The Clos Milan is Henri Milan’s magnum opus, Grenache and Shiraz (Syrah feels more appropriate here though). This vintage also has a splash of Mondeuse which is growing in the vineyard in front of Henri’s house, which offers such a delightful spiced note. The result is an elegant, perfumed, smooth, luscious wine that can be drunk now or will age further. Domaine Milan is based in the hilly and windswept Provence, where Henri Milan and his son Théo and daughter Emmanuelle, all very charismatic and gracious, make excellent wine. The picturesque vineyards are nestled between the Chaîne des Alpilles mountains and other beautiful estates that once ensured a nourishing, stable vineyard environment. However, as the climate in Provence has proved more and more troublesome, they have gone on to acquire a 12 hectare plot of vines in Orgon, by the Les Alpilles mountains that will hopefully mean they can make more and more of these truly spell binding wines.
