2021 Village Shiraz

A Shiraz that looks more like a Syrah, oddly. Maybe because of the cool ripening season, there’s more focus on perfume - violets, black pepper, mulberry. Feels a little mysterious. The cool, calm quiet of their winery shed that overlooks one of the steepest driveways in the Adelaide Hills, is nothing short of wondrous. The wines are full of fruit purity and this stillness that you can only feel alone, appreciating nature. Like watching sunflowers sway in the wind. They look after quite a few vineyards of their own these days, scattered around the Basket Range. The fruit they source that isn’t theirs, is grown by friends with the same principles and heart.
