There’s something about the mouth-filling qualities of these Northern Rhone varieties coupled with their aromatics - like wandering in an orchard at dusk, summer heat settling on fat flowers and fruit so round its ready to drop, burst. The sweet, sensuous humidity. And somehow, there’s still acid! How delicate the balance is to retain fruit richness without slathering on oak, and still feel balanced in its brightness. Vintage after vintage this wine hits the ball out of the park. Steve Crawford started his label under the moniker Frederick Stevenson whilst working at a larger winery. They are an exploration into the fertile soils of the ancient Barossa, providing a fresh perspective on the more traditional drinking styles of this region. Lots of fun and vibrancy to explore in his wines.
