A very small plot of Gamay, grown on white granite and red schist. 18 days cold carbonic maceration, then 75% aged in old barrels and 25% in concrete tank for 10 months. So much perfume! Like wandering into an old antique store. Spices, roses, cherries. Cedar. Sits medium bodied, so pleasant. Raphaël is a 4th generation winemaker in Beaujolais, now looking after some gorgeous sites with older vines planted by his great grandfather.
