Chenas is our favourite. From a 2ha plot Raphaël bought and went about turning to organics in 2017. The very interesting super rocky soils create very powerful and complex wines. Chenas is our favourite. From a 2ha plot Raphaël bought and went about turning to organics in 2017. The very interesting super rocky soils create very powerful and complex wines. But, as with all of her wines, the first thing you notice is the perfume. Cherries and chocolate, wild blackberries and anise. Florals like you’ve walked into a room full of flower crowns. Tart and plucky, so more-ish. Raphaël is a 4th generation winemaker in Beaujolais, now looking after some gorgeous sites with older vines planted by his great grandfather. The wines in their youth and magnetic - fun and approachable but not without complexity. The wines from the more prestigious sites are age worthy and definitely conversation starters.
