Pouring the colour of copper, this wine bursts with a minerality and undeniably powerful structure. One to drink over the course of three days, certainly. Dried oregano, thyme and lavender. Dried apricot, peach, fig, mango. Special. After years studying winemaking and working with iconic winemakers like Thierry Allemand in Cornas and Bruno Schuller in Alsace, Savoie-born and raised Jean-Yves Péron came back home. Since 2004 he has been making wine and has put his hometown on the map when it comes to natural wine production. Because of the mountainous region, accessibility and climate, all of his vineyards are managed very manually, following organic and biodynamic viticultural practices. He is a champion of forgotten local varieties like Jacquere, Altesse, Mondeuse, and showcasing these through minimal interventionist winemaking techniques. They are prolific, powerful and other-worldly. If you love the rawness of the Loire and the tradition of the Jura mixed with an alpine mystique, look no further.
