Christine and Joel Menard have been living and breathing and biodynamically managing fruit in the Coteaux du Layon AOC, within the Loire, for over two decades. As they grow older, their son Jeremy has been slowly taking over. Though the region is famed for its sweeter styles of Chenin Blanc, the Menard’s like to make styles of wine across the board, particularly the much loved vin-de-soif or glou-glou reds. A dance of classic varieties - Chenin, Grolleau, Gamay and Cabernet Franc. Miam. They’re also wildly affordable in a world of spindly, staggeringly high natural wine prices as the climate gets more and more chaotic.
