2021 Piak Blanc de Noir

Not many whites out there that are made from Cabernet Franc, but it works. Domaine Bobinet Piak! Blanc full of bright red cherries, lemon balm and saline hints. It’s so interesting to see a white wine like this. On the palate it’s fresh, juicy and round. Easy drinking. Domaine Bobinet was formed in 2002 when Sebastien took over 1.8 hectares of vineyard and cellar from his grandparents, in the Loire Valley. The decision to work organically was imperative, particularly inspired by his hero, Olivier Cousin. Sebastien started off with 1.5 hectares of Cabernet Franc and 0.3 hectare of Chenin Blanc, made in a cellar carved into the tuffeau (limestone) of the Coteaux of Saumur. Emeline Calvez joined later, an ex-dancer turned sommelier, she heeded the call to the vines and now they make and grow together.
