Pinot Noir from Mount Gambier made by Lawrence Scanlon (one half of Dirty Black Denim). The vineyard is in the southern part of Gambier, on heavy limestone and clay; not on the volcanic stuff. It was abandoned before Lawrence and Kyatt (of Limus wines) showed some interest, and the farmer started to bring it back to life. Only copper and S02 sprayed, so the foundations of organic viticulture. Lawrence picked the fruit at around 10be and fermented it with 25% whole bunches for 7 days. Aging in old barriques and bottled with zero sulphur or any other additions. Really tasty stuff, and can take a chill.
