This wine was originally planned to be released as a 100% Dolcetto table wine last vintage, but as it came time to consider blending and bottling, Micah felt it was lacking something, and had some finished Zibbibo nearby, singing aromatically. Ping! The blend has stuck. The result. Tangerine, mandarin, pomelo, a citrus bubblebath! The palate is light, with acid and grip, ripe strawberry up front with a mildly bitter, cumquat like finish. The new Defialy wines from Micah, are really very good. Each cuvee is a portal into a fanciful, carefree universe of anthropomorphological characters with endearing personalities. Maybe that’s because the name is a portal itself, an abbreviation of the way his parents used to sign off letters “don’t ever forget i’ll always love you”.
