A Walk In The Woods 600ml
A special release for whisky lovers who seek bold, in-your-face flavours. It’s not so much a calm, centering walk in the woods, as it is an energising Bear Gryll’s plunge into the woods. A special release for whisky lovers who seek bold, in-your-face flavours. It’s not so much a calm, centering walk in the woods, as it is an energising Bear Gryll’s plunge into the woods. At 60% alcohol it’s no joke there either. So much rollicking spiciness, cooked fruits, spices and tobacco. On the nose: Plump stewed raisins, confit plantain sprinkled with demerara sugar & nutmeg, oatty short bread crumble, mountain moss, fresh pine tree sap, champagne cork, candied apricot and maple syrup taffy. The palate is all breakfast oats, apricot, licorice and salted caramel ice-cream, new oak resin and banana pancakes. This whiskey finishes reminiscent of a walk in the woods with Cradle Mountain pepper berries, moss, hops, pine bark embers and a spray of sea salt. Insanely limited.
Cradle Mountain Whisky is made in North-West of Tasmania, near the unbelievably beautiful Cradle Mountain. Tasmania is a land of pristine wilderness, fertile soils and unspoiled waters, perfect for whisky distilling. They began in 1989 off the back of the removal of distilling laws in Tasmania, and immediately settled on the volcanic soil near Cradle Mountain – noting the effect it had on the grain grown there. The whiskies are inimitable, local grains and local spring water from an isolated part of the world. They are for thrillseekers of terroir.
